round-the-clock

Around the clock supervision

The Manager of The Old Vicarage is a Registered General Nurse who personally supervises care planning for each resident. Her team members are fully trained and highly motivated to provide the warmest and safest home environment possible.

Care and other support is available 24 hours a day.

Accommodation

Our residents can choose between the convivial atmosphere of the dining room, drawing room, conservatory and gardens, or the privacy of their own private rooms.

All bedrooms are furnished to the highest standards and feature en-suite facilities and TVs.  Each bedroom is supplied with a wardrobe, bedside cupboard, chest of drawers, bed and comfortable chair.  We encourage residents to personalise their rooms with their own trinkets and special possessions to create a familiar personal environment.

There are two bathrooms and one shower wet room.

nurse-calls

‘Nurse calls’ in every room

All rooms have a nurse-call system giving re-assurance of assistance as and when needed. Locks can be fitted to the door upon request.  The Home is equipped with a WanderGuard system to ensure the safety of any resident who may try to wander outside the Home.

Therapeutic activities

The Home policy on ‘therapeutic activities’ takes into account the resident’s interests, skills, experiences, personality and medical conditions. The Home offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage the client to keep mobile.

Activities

We employ an Activities Co-ordinator during the week to work with the residents.

The Activities Co-ordinator and staff encourage and help residents to pursue their hobbies and interests.

Our dedicated Activity Co-ordinator organises a wide selection of ‘in house’ entertainment including musical evenings, yoga classes,  art & craft classes, a weekly exercise class, quizzes, garden parties, fetes and a firework display every November 5th.

Regular communion is held at The Old Vicarage and residents are encouraged to attend local churches as desired.

A family of chickens also live at The Old Vicarage which keep the residents entertained!

Local GP welcome

The Old Vicarage has regular visits from the local Bakewell General Practitioners.  We encourage all our residents to maintain regular contact with the local GP's. Visits by private doctors, opticians and physiotherapists can be arranged on request.
